A little bit about me (Wouter Lismont)
I'm 23 and I study film in Brussels (Narafi). In evening classes I study photography at the art academy of my home city Leuven. In 2004 I received my professional bachelor degree in informatics at the Kaho Sint Lieven and immediately started working as a webdesigner for epyc. After two years I decided to start film school.

In the past I did several voluntary projects and work with SCI and VIA Belgium. Three years ago I went to Hungary for a social workcamp with Roma Gipsies in Tiszadob. Later I participated in a few seminars (SCI: bridging the gap in Finland and summer university 1 in Madrid, Inex: banging the drum in Bratislava). I stayed active in the organisations for a while, volunteering (and cooking :) where I could.

You could describe me as creative, social and always full of energy. I love playing music (piano and guitar) and I play the keys in a band called Mystery 9.

My motivation for this project :
I am working with but not for the partner organisations, the project was my idea. I do this because I want to show to the world what voluntary work is all about: why do people give up their holidays and pay a lot to work in a foreign country. I believe in the power of voluntary work and with the documentary I want to inspire people. Video is a modern and powerful way to reach many people and it's how I can use my talents to contribute as a volunteer myself. Of course I will enjoy this enriching experience, the beautiful country and all the nice people I will meet.
